What's the story on these? I know that they have both a shortscale and non shortscale version. Based on a quick ebay search, 300 seems like a good price, and I'd probably replace the pickguard with a black one anyways, so the issues he brought up don't bother me.

Does anyone here have any experience with the original pickups? "Bright and Twangy" doesn't sound like my kind of thing when it comes to bass, but a black P bass shaped body/glossy maple neck is exactly what I've been looking for in a bass.
