There are also plenty of Catalinbread's own demos here:

This is a really cool sounding "Marshall in a box" pedal. It uses a Mu-Amp JFET based design which is similar characteristically to the Push-Pull arrangement you get in Class A/B Valve amps.
I'm in the process of amassing some drive pedals so I can start using the JCM800 at rehearsals/gigs, using the high input for songs that are dirty all the way through, and the low input and pedals for those with clean and dirty parts. So far I have the MXR Classic Distortion I bought from Haze which I really like and a Barber LTD Silver drive pedal (the Saltbreaker) which produce great sounds between them, with the Classic Distortion being aimed and a medium gain sort of crunch and the Barber capable in the lower-medium range side of things. I've been a fan of the Catalinbread pedal since I heard the demos and it recently got reversed, so I designed a veroboard layout for it and built it the other week, it sounds great. I am boxing it up shortly and drilled and finished a case when I did Noirie's Feedback Looper, it is a silver case with the Marshall logo on it and Plexi/JCM800 as a subtitle, I have labelled the "Rock/Rawk" switch as "Plexi/JCM800" on my pedal. Pictures tonight.
For now check out the videos, I think it's a cool design (similar to the BSIAB - Brown Sound In A Box, which is a DIY Classic), and the Catalinbread guys seem really cool to me, happy to discuss their pedals with DIYers and customers alike.

i hear ya. i'm not sure if you're talking directly to me, but i never said anything about the marshall decal. yours looks great, i just wanted to see something gold and black with a pedal like that. more for future consideration, if any at all.Mike wrote:That looks great.
I don't particularly care if you don't like the Marshall decal, I do, and it's a pedal for me (at long last).
So I'm pretty much the only person who matters.
looks great. do some more for yourself, would ya?
