Specifically chosen for its innovation, quality and global impact, Authentic Hendrix LLC began conversations with the Gibson Guitar Corp. in 2008 to develop guitar packages that would serve as a tribute to the musician who many have called the world's greatest guitarist of all time. "Creating this new guitar is continuing Jimi's practice of giving back to people. He would go to Manny's Music store in New York to make himself available to young musicians and invite them to his studio to watch him record. He also gave away guitars or bought them for young players," said Janie Hendrix, Jimi's sister and CEO of Authentic Hendrix.

Though that's quite common on their site. Makes you wonder why they'd bother with the whole web 2.0 approach when pretty much every comment they get on any guitars are negative.
That is clearly "China in your Hands" ... 130 pd stl. beginner pack. Did Gibson really change their policy so much that they put their label on a guitar that costs - including Amp, effect and tuner - less than a Gibson 57 classic pickup?

Gibson has done a LOT of over the top guitars this year and then they do THIS? WTF GIBSON?
i would have been down if it were fender who had done this BECAUSE they would have made it a custom shop thing because they might actually appreciate Hendrix and his choice in using Fender so much and making it an even more iconic guitar.
