Recording Equipment Help

I am going to spend 300-350 pounds on a laptop and around 50 on a mic

Any suggestions I'm only using it for lo fi type of recordings and ideas.

music radar recently had a feature on netbooks in that price range and what was good for what, might be worth taking a look at that. LANK

you might be better off just getting a digital recorder for that kind of money.

I need a new laptop anyway this one is on it's last legs ha

I'd prefer it to have a dvd drive.
