Loar 700 mandolin, vintage sunburst, spruce top, flammed mapple back and sides and all kinds of loveliness. Neat binding and carving on the scroll. Much louder than my old mandolin, responds with way more volume than my old one, the whoe thing feels more responsive.

Nut was high from the factory, filed it down a bit. One slightly dead note but will sort it out. Plays real nice now.

Damn! that is a nice looking mandolin! I thought I remember you making a jab at F style mandolins in my thread though?

Nah I love them, favourite type for sure. was just making fun of folk players who laugh off non f-5 players.

the design is perfect, aesthetics, function, the f5 is as good as a strat in design terms
everything is not going to be alright
