Jazzmaster update and Jag switcheroo

Post by Thomas »

I put the dots and binding neck on the Jazzmaster, I'm very happy with it. Still undecided on whether to get a gold bridge foe it of just take the gold off te Trem...

Image

I loved the '65 A width Jaguar neck I picked up so I put it on the BMM body. The guitar is now totally perfect, sounds amazing and plays like a dream.

Image

This left me with the B+B neck from the BMM Jaguar. Since I used the 65 Mustang neck (that was on my Duo) on the 65 Mustang body I got from Dave I had left my 65 Duosonic sitting without a neck so I popped the Jag one on there. I've been playing this loads. It's a beast!!

Jesus, blue Jazzy is sexy. I even love the fucked-up gold tailpiece on it, matches the earwaxy headstock. I wouldn't get a gold bridge to match, nor try and remove the rest of the gold from the trem. Mismatch replacement bits on an old workhorse guitar are cool. Get a single, tarnished gold tuner for your D string, problem solved.

All of those guitars are too sexy to be in one room.

your threads of late have been pissing me right off, thommy boy. 8)

that jazzmaster is so beautiful. personally, i'd put a vintage trem on it, because the gold screams SHIT. don't take that the wrong way, it looks fine & functional (as frogs hair, innit).

i wish i did whatever you do for a living.

Its Clover green. i think is a Honda colour. it's a touch more metallic than it looks in the photo.

This too. Don't usually like gold, but that's great.

Thank ya. It looks very close to the paint I bought for my Musicmaster, Deep Forest Green, which is also metallic. I still haven't concluded whether to use it or not, I kinda want something non-metalic and more yellowy than blacky.

Cheers all!

Pens: It's a great colour, not too metallic. Sounds exactly like what you're looking for. It's Hycote Clover Green (pearl) and it is indeed a honda colour. It's way darker and less bluish than the colour of the cap would have you believe.

My local auto shop ought to have it, since it's a Honda color I'll look in that section. Cheers!

Sorry I edited my above post a bit. It's way darker, less metallic and less of a bluish tint than the cap would have you believe.

Hmm. Maybe I ought to do a test spray of the color I have now then?

Based on image searches, this appears to be the color I bought:

So it's a tad too blue for me.

Yeah that looks way more blue. Try a test spray.
