NGD - Airline Folkstar

I've been looking for an amplified acoustic option for a while and today I snagged an Airline Folkstar by Eastwood.Â

It has two pickups - mini bucker on the neck and piezo under the bridge. Switching is via a blend control. It's a resonator guitar as well so there are lots of tonal options.Â

And it's red!

It is good fun to play - my only criticism of it is that the head dives a lot.

Also, if you're buying one you should take a bit of care - I had two to choose from, and the fit and finish on one of them was definitely subpar. The chrome on the resonator cover was bubbled, and the pots were poorly fitted. The sound of each was pretty close though.

I haven't put it through an amp yet, but will get to that at band rehearsal this week.

So I finally took this to band practice and played it through my AC15. It was great! I just ran it through my pedal board, but turned off my boost to make sure I stayed in clean territory.

Got a really nice acoustic sound - I used the blend knob to get 25% neck and 75% bridge, rolled the treble all the way off and it was perfect. It was great fun to play. Put a capo on the fifth fret for one song and the intonation was spot on. We've got a gig coming up next week and I will definitely be using this guitar for that gig.

Scale on this is 24 3/4", 20 frets. Does that make it a shortscale? Feels a little short (not a bad thing BTW).
