Ampeg VT-22 Refub

Post by xxhoixx »

I thought I would share a pic of my refurbished Ampeg VT-22. I bought this amp on ebay about 4 years ago and wanted to get it checked out because, by the looks of it, it had never been checked out. While the guy had it I had him re-tolex it in seafoam green. Here's a before/after shot:

If you DC guys are on FB check out the Gear Talk DC group. It's a real good gang.

Sweet amp. Looks fantastic.

looks great, it would be interesting if you had any shots of the process and talk us through how you did it. I've a beat up old amp which looks a bit shabby at the moment so would be interested in this

Looks nice. I actually prefer the original, battered, utility amp - it had scars and history and a meanness.

That looks ace. Love the colour and the slight redesign. Looks like a whole different amp. Good stuff.

lorez: I didn't actually do the work myself. I needed to have the electronics looked at so I took it to a guy I know and had him do the detail work. I had the guy add a much needed ground because this thing was not at all grounded. In fact, whenever I tried to use an A/B box with this my guitar would zap me.
