Electronic Drum Set on a Budget

Post by lank81 »

Is there such a thing? Not much of a drummer but I hate using loops so I figured why not make my self get a little better and record via an electronic set. Any recommendations?

I got the Yamaha DD-55 used for £35ish for exactly the same reason you mention.

They do what they're supposed to. I use them to record the midi to record virtual instruments in Garageband. Did so quite successfully last night. Also made me realise how bad I suck at drums.
The foot pedals are by no means perfect. Takes a bit of getting used to.
If I were to do it again, I'd spring the extra cash for the DD-65. Looks like a slightly more 'natural' drum set up.
No perfect but good enough, compact and pretty cheap.
