More projects. Marauder and Jagstang

A marauder and a Jagstang for myself, both tweaked a little to suit me better :D

I got the Marauder template from THIS THREAD, I shortened the back of the pickguard slightly, tweaked it to fit the body outline better and to suit the Mustang Bass control plate.

Ignore that pickguard, I fucked it up between the control plate and bridge.
I will most likely use 3 strat pickups with black covers wired so when all in the off position they're all on in series.
And of course there will be a rhythm circuit too.
And I'll probably paint it straight black. There's an outside chance I'll paint it pink and/or use a red pear pickguard.

The Jagstang has a little more Jag and a Little more 'stang added.
I added the lower horn and upper waist area from the 'stang, it's 1.5" thick and is all contoured.
I think it looks slicker than a real JS, kind of faster if you will.
It will get painted red, have a white pearl pickguard and black pickups, switches and knobs.
Pickups will be a superdistortion copy (cheaperdistortion?) in the bridge postion and a Jaguar pickup in the neck with standard Mustang switching and 1M pots.
Bridge will be a T-o-M and stoptail on a Mustang trem plate.

Yep that's more like I'd imagine a jag-stang 2.0. Good work!

That jag-stang's shape looks weird, which is kind of saying something.

I like that Jagstang shape better than the KC one. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I'd say it looks squashed. Might look better once it's assembled though. That Marauder is pretty cool.

Mine actually has a little more bulk to it. Compare them;

Horses for courses, I guess?
Anyway, I'm building it to suit my needs rather than to win any beauty or popularity contests.

Got some paint on the Marauder too.

Well the joke's on you because that thing is FREAKIN BEAUTIFUL.
The nipped-in waist on the original Jag-Stang is the biggest design fail. You fixed it perfectly and rescued the design.

I much prefer your Jagstang - gets rid of all the original's gawkiness.

YES. The original looks like it's trying to suck its gut in. Nice work.

I hope you will. Would be great to see the finished product.

Very interesting that you used a TOM and stoptail on a Mustang plate. Never seen that before. Might have to steal the idea

I like what you did with your jagstang. Looks more like Kurt's drawing.

Kurt was never happy with Fender's version, but I think he'd like yours.

I want to wire the bridge humbucker to a stock Mustang switch as series/off/parallel (as the 2 halves of the HB in series and parallel)
I haven't quite found the diagram I need for that though.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?

The neck pickup will just be stock 'stang on/off/out of phase so already have a diagram for that portion.
