Very nice bass guitar. Yes, it might sound a bit muddy... or not. I'll let it a chance.

I'll still probably end up getting the Squier Mikey Way sig though, haha. I hate MCR but that bass is beautiful.

Wellll, some of us like a very "bassy" sound for our bass. That "mud bucker" as you call it has really impressed me on the tele bass.
It's twice as loud and bass heavy as my mustang bass. And really, folks, have we all forgotten about a pot change? FOR SHAME.

Ah, I was merely referring my previous experiences with them, it is not the bassiness, but the lack of clarity that has irked me so far. What pots would be better on 'em?

It sounds like they have a lower value, probably even 250k. You can bump thos eup to 500k or 1M for a brighter sound. I wouldnt change mine, though, but I also have a bridge pickup in case i need to go "CLANK CLANK"

If it's not a stupid amount of money I might consider buying that white one. Lovely looking bass.

Didn't realize these were in the Pawn Shop range... seems that just a pickup change is a little tame modding for the series.
