I've got my eye on a diffferent brand name version of the Eastwood Mandocaster. Long story short I'm moving in with my parents for a year and want to practice with headphones to save some from my Gaelic PLINKY PLONKY HEY NONNY PLINKY PLONKY.

Other possibilities are a Mandobird VIII.

Anyone had first hand experience with them? I'm not looking to spend a lot, and theres a really great guy from mandolincafe forum who specialises in upgrades for these models if I want to go that route:

Some inspirational vids! The Mandobird seems to have a pretty convincing acoustic mando tone in most vids I've seen. The eastwood not so much but not sure if thats down to the person making the vid and their settings/amp etc:
