That makes sense. During the staining, the binding is masked and then is unmasked for the clearcoat.

It came today! It is soo nice. My first impression: DAMN Rhoney can really paint. This looks like it came right out of the Fender factory wow! The neck is incredibly nice. It is very thin to my liking. It is very well built. Nice job Cross. And last but not least cooterfinger always amazes me. The body is perfect. The binding is wonderful. Very solid and the f holes look ace. I put it somewhat together and mocked up the rest. It needs wiring and I need to fit the tuners still. Here's some pics:

The headstock alone is, well...just beyond words.

I still can't get over how nice the paint is. It's so well done. And the neck feels soo comfortable. Can't wait to get it wired up and hear it.

looks lovely, only thing i'm a bit unsure of is the jazz trem. don't think it works shape-wise. that's just a personal thing, obvz. possibly once it's strung up it'll look cool.
