Behringer PODCASTUDIO set - worth buying?

Post by Aiden »

Hello. I really want to start recording stuff at home on my laptop. I've already got Audacity, now I'm looking for the things that make it so my sweet guitar chords can get into Audacity sounding nice. This - http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/PO ... O-USB.aspx - looks like a pretty good bundle for about £80-£90 most places, and I love the fact that they've run the words podcast and studio together. Anyone have any experience with it? Is there anything that it's obviously lacking?

cheers.

I have that phono interface, the sound quality isn't great. I think a better bet would be to try and pick up a second hand interface on ebay.

stay away from usb mics and/or anything marketed toward 'podcasting'

just get a small dual input usb2 or firewire interface that has both xlr and 1/4" inputs, phantom power, polarity flip, and a pad

also check out REAPER for software

cheers both. I won't have any money for ages so plenty of time to hunt around.
