NGD: Cyclone II

Post by Awstin »

I have been eyeing this Cyclone 2 up since I went to Florida this year. It is absolutely beautiful. It is definitely mint condition. I have never seen one so clean. Anyway, my grandparents happen to be down there now, so they bought it for me and sent it to me. It arrived today. It's so sweet. It came in a hardshell case and it even had all the original tags. I think a collector bought it brand new and they kept it in the case. There is not one flaw on it. I looked everywhere. No dents, nicks, not even one single scratch anywhere. The chrome is extremely shiny too. No pitting or any of that. All like it just came out of the factory. The action is amazing and it plays wonderfully. This thing is definitely going to be a collector. How many of them are still out there in this good of condition? Plus I have my red cyclone 2 which has a lot of character that I can play. Now for some pictures!

It's like right out of a Fender catalog. Fender needs to reissue these guitars next.

Nice, I think I even prefer the blue to the red, which is usually the other way round for me.

I definitely like the blue better than the red on this model. It just looks much better and is more sharp.

It's a real case queen for sure.

I doubt they'll bother, these get a lot of love on Shortscale but when they were originally out for sale they were a total flop. the 2 they had in my local guitar shop and they were hanging on the wall for a loooong time at a very deeply discounted price. I was tempted cos I LOVE the design (hated the neck tho).

If they did do a reissueI would be very interested to see an Indonesian Squier classic vibe version with a thinner body. They all seem to have great necks on them.

I never thought I would own one, let alone two. Lol. I'm digging that Cyclone hang tag. "Super snarlin' Jaguar pickups" That's the first I saw one of those. I just took inventory last night and I have 20 electric guitars, 2 bass's, 2 acoustic electrics, 1 banjo, 1 cigar box guitar, and three projects. I ran out of room where I store them. I'm becoming HNB lol.

Very nice! Interesting how the fingerboard is darker on the red one. I forgot these were 24 3/4" scale too. I wonder if they're conversion necks from 25.5" (I think the Toronados were like that)?

*sigggggh*

This makes me miss mine quite-a-fucking lot.

Nice score, though! Easily one of the classiest modern Fender mash-ups.
