NGD: BLACKBODY RADIATION
I bought Richard's Vista Musicmaster! It's a fun guitar, not a great one, but a very fun one. I think that's what the Vista series was all about. It sounds awesome; I have no idea why so few of these are left stock. The humbucker sounds great in full or coilsplit. The one still has plastic around the pickguard screws and pots - don't think it's ever been opened. The pot is a bit loose, so I need to tighten the nut. I had one of these years ago that I bought from some noob named blackmarker, but I sold it to Mezz. I've missed it, so when this popped up, I HAD TO HAS IT.
The saddles are way too big for the bridge, so the string spacing and height are all out of whack. The B doesn't ring out well open and the high e buzzes a bit. It doesn't affect play above the 12th fret much, but I'll probably get another MM bridge, swap the saddles and flip the new one. The neck heel extends WAY above the body, just like I remember. I swear there's a full 3 cm of string height above the body. The pickguard is yellowed - it's like cream against the black.
I have a type.

I've only got two with bridge single coils: an affinity Tele and my Fotoflame Jaguar. Even the PRISONSTANG is hotrailed out.robroe wrote:true story i don't own any guitars with humbuckers anymore.
well the duckbucker is kind of a humbucker.....
I was VERY close to swapping the Jaguar's bridge pickup for a hot rails, but then I put a huge foam BRICK that Aug stuffed into the original Shadowmaster under the pickup. The increased height = the decreased suck.

I think my NEXT LEVEL MOVES would be to get rid of at least 2 guitars to make room for a Starcaster reissue. Not sure which, but I don't like feeling like such a hoarder.markarkark wrote:You need a black on black on black 70s musicmaster. Stealthbucker under the guard.
