Yeah, that looks great. Is there another thread on this project?

I'm assuming those are some sort of PAFs. What about neck/body?

I would love to hear what this thing sounds like. I'm not a fan of widerangers myself, so I actually love this j-blaster as an alternative to the Lee Ranaldo.

edit: forgot to say thanks lol

this is actually an old old project that has been passed around A LOT:

http://www.shortscale.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22638

http://www.shortscale.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=55462

the pups are "fender hot alnico humbuckers" from a blacktop strat that I loved the sound of but rebuilt as a vintagey strat for the guitarist in my band

this has a different bridge and slightly different pickup spacing but there are tons of videos that show the approximate tonez just search "blacktop strat"

Good stuff, thanks for the info. Quite a long and sordid history! Will check out those blacktop buckers...
