Jazz At The State - Live Jazz In Glasgow

Post by Gabriel »

http://thestatejazzbar.wix.com/jazz-at-the-state

On October 2nd myself and my friend are launching a new night in Glasgow for live jazz music. We'll be featuring our quartet with some original tunes as well as standards, followed by a jam session.

One of the ways we're trying to differentiate our night from any other jazz night is through the use of new media. We'll be cataloguing what goes in to the production of a jazz concert with short films as well as filming live footage from the actual venue.

We're really excited to bring our music to people in a new platform and hopefully reaching a wider audience through the internet.

Anyway here are two short solo improvisations from myself and James.

Yesterday we recorded a couple of duo pieces. These are much more jazz than the previous two videos, but we had good fun recording them.

Here is the first video:

Started uploading footage from the first night. We'll be back this Thursday with more original music. Doors open at 8pm, music starts at 9pm. Second set is a jam.
