No, Matt lives down here, mostly in Basingstoke with his girlfriend. He did come round last night to record some instructional videos for Johno from Treasures, who's depping for him again at their O2 Bristol gig (while Matt deps for the drummer).

Okay, so multimeter arrived and I've had a poke about.

Measurements:

Bridge Pickup

Bridge side coil (i.e. working one): 11.84 kΩ
Neck side coil (i.e.non-working one): 485.5 kΩ

Just for comparison:

Neck Pickup

Bridge side coil: 11.34 kΩ
Neck side coil: 11.87 kΩ

I guess this falls under "I don't know what the normal reading is but if it's much higher then you have a break in the wiring or bad solder joint inside the pickup."

Thanks for all your help Nick.

I think repairing the pickup is probably beyond me but I should be able to swap it out easily enough (famous last words...) so I'll see if I can get a replacement from somewhere. Not sure if they were specific to the Pawn Shop Mustang or are the same "WRHB" lookalikes in Teles etc. I think the model number is in the service manual.
