Full Scale Jagstang Project

Post by HNB »

With my white Jagstang purchase issue, I decided I would go a different rout to get a white Jagstang. I am going to have cooterfinger do the body and I might have one of my friends build me an all maple neck. When it is done, it should look like this.

ImageJagstang by Christopher Louck, on Flickr

The details:

Full scale maple big headstock neck.
String through body chrome bridge.
Body mounted humbucker. (White with white ring.)
Toggle on the lower horn.
Less pickguard screws since it won't have slider switches.
Normal angled single neck pickup mounted to pearl guard. (The guard will have a small gap around the mounted humbucker like a Telecaster Plus.)
Body contours on the back and forearm.
Alder body.

Because I have a normal short scale one and I want a full scale one? Loads of people here have guitars that aren't short scale. :)

Progress pictures. The body is cut, neck pocket is cut, roundovers are there, and the bridge and string holes are drilled.

Building full-scale versions of short scale guitars has become a popular project on here. It's cool to take something that supposed be one thing and make it what you want it to be. In essence, It's a very Shortscale.org thing to do.

I see :) It is the opposite to what I used to do, I was always going for a short scale version of a guitar which normally has a full scale neck

I'm not so much of a fan of the decal. I'm more of a fan of the 70's "ugly as fuck aesthetic". You know, BIG BLOCK LETTERS and black shit around the pickups (Black pickups and surrounds on a white guard on white or scumburst for the best effect).

Yours looks more appropriate to the project tho. Ben is on the money, it looks great!

Thanks! A slight deviation from the plan. I got a Strat neck with rosewood and smaller headstock for pretty cheap. I think it should look cool.

Decal design fits the headstock well.

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

I sent the body to PST Guitars to be painted OLY white. I wanted to make sure the finish turned out well and my painting ability isn't the best.

He got the body prepped and white on it. Looking really great so far! Excited. The neck is curing. I will take a couple pics in a min and post them.
