New Hagstrom reissues on the way, Mudhoney interest

Post by timhulio »

Don't know anything more about these yet. A dude posted this on a Hagstrom FB group.

Obvs the headstocks are wrong because the proper ones infringe Fender's trademark, but aside from that they look very interesting. Particularly like the HIII, which thanks to the chunkier neck may well appeal to those who hate the skinny vintage neck (Stewart). Props to them for resurrecting the impractical trem, and using squared-off pickup rings.

Now I can get some of these trems for cheap. They're used on so many MIJ guitars.

Yeah. It's based on the later version HIII with the rectangular pickups and no printed control plate.

Every guitar Hagstrom have come out with in recent years has had me going "fuck, why isn't it an HIII RI"

What their comeback should have been all along. I'm also one who doesn't like the ultra skinny necks so who knows, there might be one in my future.

Quite right. Swedes and Vikings are cool, but they are just Les Paul and 335 derivatives. At least these are a bit different.

Loving the three pickup model on the left. This is great news. Any word on pricing?

Where are you getting your "big neck" info from Timbo?

From looking at em. It won't be a big neck, but a normal sized neck. The originals, have an ultra-skinny neck with a narrow nut width.
