Can anyone help figure out what the bloody hell this is?

Talk about all other types of guitars. Jazzmasters and basses go here!

Can anyone help figure out what the bloody hell this is?

Post by GreenCustom24 »

A friend got in touch with me while cleaning out a dead relative's house. She came across some guitars. One is an ESP Viper 10. Easy one to figure out. There's an acoustic I'm still waiting for pictures of, but then there's this sort of interesting one... Looks like a Viking or a Coronado clone of some sort... No name on the headstock and no clear markings anywhere. Anyone have any idea what it might be? She's looking to see what (if anything) they could get for it. I'm actually interested even if it's just a wall piece, but I don't wanna rip her off.

It's obviously 'Gretsch intercity hobo'.

Some Teisco or Aria manufactured guitar. I'd say take it and play it

Probably Japanese made. Looks like it has all the normal parts for Teisco or all the other guitars made in the same place. (Kent, etc.) The metal knobs, the pickups, the tuners, the five bolt neck plate... All looks like from those sort of guitars. :)

I think I've narrowed it down. Based off the neck plate and tailpiece, I'm pretty sure it's a Greco. Still having a hard time finding the model though.

Damn! Nice find Dan. Definitely is night and day. If I can get it from my friend I'll clean the hell out if it and post some pictures. I tried to convert the Danish currency (based off the only pricing I can see in that link) to USD to get an idea but it came to like, $3. Dunno if I did something wrong. Ha

I would take a punt on it. If the pickups/electronics are all good it looks like a pretty nice find.

The one in the link sold for DKK 2500 / $363.91 btw.

"Listen To The Music" chords weren't kosher.

Guitar in the "clean" pic and guitar being played appear to have a mute on the bridge? A lever on the neck side of the bridge gets flipped at one point.
