I thought some might like this, it’s a library from the BBC of sound fx. Have a dig and see what you can find. Also check the license if you want to use commercially

Wicked.

Found out at the weekend that you can DL sounds from pretty much every current paiste cymbal direct from their site. This was after wasting a day trying to recreate a cymbal roll (and failing).

Which publicly funded body is cooler and more awesome than the BBC?

Quite an archive of goods.

It also may be worth becoming a member of freesound.org for both rummaging as well as contributing. A lot of junk that's improperly recorded or just plain poop content, but there are also loads of unique and usable sounds as well available for download. My champagne cork pop file for one has been downloaded over 7000 times, and dozens of bods have written to tell me they've put the sample it in their slo-jamz and hip hop chunes :P
