Yeah, quite like the colours/matching headstocks. Less keen on the pickups/TOM/stop tail.

Love the look of that Surf Pearl JM. I've never actually played a guitar with active pickups, but I think it's safe to assume I wouldn't be a fan.

What's the dealio with putting passive humbucker in an active guitar? Any potential issues?

The active models are interesting, there is definitely a market for them as well.
£309 is a good price considering the advanced electronics, be interesting to hear how they sound.

This is how I meant it (not sure how clear this is but it's a link). Kind of a mock-archaic, sarcastic, semi-affectionate way of calling someone a wind-up merchant.
