Still owned by Fender though. Haven't tried any of the solid bodies but the hollow Streamliners I've tried have all been great.

Streamliner range is indeed great, I've got the G2420t after a bit of setting up the Bigby its an absolute beauty

You can now find out if the Coronets, Wilshires and Crestwoods are any good for tedious blues noodling:

Maybe we need a separate Epiphone thrad?

Lole, park me here too.

I do love the headstock plate thang on these new ones though.. although I realise they are probably period rather than new?

Those massive ugly scratchplates just remind me of a pinned-open dissected frog or something, Rorschach af

Either way, fuggers.

Agree on the scratchplate, headstock on the current ones looks sweet though.
Hmm the bigsby one.. Flip lefty, sell righty bigsby and fit lefty bigsby.
Well it's not a bigsby but... Ehhh...

I've been looking at bigsby B5 with the jazzmaster mounting plate.. Pricey business but I dig it... As they make lefties.

Yeah Fender, lefty trems other than strat trems, look at that!

Coronets, Wilshires and Olympics of all generations that were made in Kalamazoo are visually the best guitar designs among all the set neck guitars and the shapes of the pickguards are some of the best in my personal opinion, while Crestwoods with batwing headstock and binding on the headstock are some of the fugliest guitars ever.

The symmetrical pickguard especially on the post 1964 Coronets is by far my favourite shape of all

See, I love the Coronets (etc.) and think they're brilliant. And I'm equally relieved and depressed that it's a dull-as-fuck Medium-C neck, because if they'd done something brave (but divisive) like sticking a fat neck on there, I'd have bought one.

Ha! It's not a flying squirrel, it's a sugar glider, a marsupial.

Exactly. I get the feeling most people don’t like a fat neck though.

I didn't know that some of the early 60s Coronets still had a New York pickup

I don't mind chunky necks, but I just can't get on with fat ones. Most SGs I've played have had fat necks, and it just doesn't feel right to me. Especially on slender guitars. These do look awesome though.
