Albion TCT50

Post by Bacchus »

Anyone know about these? I spotted one for sale recently. I'm not buying it, but it looks like the sort of thing I'd get on very well with. And cheap too.

I've never heard of Albion at all, so I was a little surprised.

you tube videos of a few of there products seem solid. For 250 seems a solid deal but I would want to play it

Never heard of 'em, butr love the '70s hi-fi' aesthetic, especially for such a decent prince. Bet it weighs an absolute tonne thoooough. And good luck getting it serviced :/

This has come up for sale again. I've been thinking of getting a second amp for stereo goodness.....

Seems they may be a Scandinavian company

On one of the electronics forums it says they were very helpful about giving him a circuit diagram and another post says they were also sold as Wharfedale. There's also a mention of mixed FETs and valves.

I'm going to borrow a friend's AC30 for a bit to find out whether I have any use of a stereo rig and whether I can live with another amp taking up space in the flat.

Hopefully it goes terribly and I can stop thinking about it.

I haven't found the TCT50 circuit but it's likely the input stage is the same as the TCT100, which has an FET input then everything seems to be valve after that.
