It’s minor but the pickups are brighter with 1meg pots

Generally the rule of thumb I believe is 250k with single coils and 500k with humbuckers

Fender used 1meg on these back in the day but for some reason 250k on the reissues

If you think the pickups sound woolly or a bit muddy this would be the first thing to try

Took delivery of a Squier Classic Vibe 70s Telecaster Deluxe today. Second hand from eBay.

Seller hadn't done a great job packaging it, with the pickup selector snapped off. But otherwise in good condition.

A really lovely guitar. Excellent neck and a light body.

Sadly the original tuners and saddles weren't included. Nothing wrong with the locking tuners the owner had added, but might switch them back when I'm confident of the measurements.

I'm going to respray it LPB or similar. Pot replacement to 1megs, and maybe some new pickups.

Same seller was selling a 69 tele a couple of weeks ago, with images nicked from eBay.

We could be looking at WildkatGate II here.

The guitar is far from original - DEEZ NUTS were not black and DOZE SADDLES were also not black

A replacement nut never bothers me, though I must admit both vintage Gibsons I bought having their original nuts made me that much happier. Until I installed that reissue Maestro, anyway.

Also, are those Schaller tuners on that old Deluxe original? (edit- apparently they are for the '76 & onwards ones, never knew that)
