That looks amazing mike, just caught up on this thread.

I miss the baja tele quite a bit. I didn't sell it, I lent it at the time to my late ex's brother who still has it. I tried to get it back a couple of times but was met with hostility as they hate the ground I walk on because I moved on with life and got married etc.

Hoping one day they can see sense and at least return the guitar to me.

Surely turn up in the works van under a blue light, go in in a full hazmat, come out with it disguised in a big bag. Boom, job done.

(bonus feature: also release Fran with a zimmer frame at the same time as a Captain Fran distraction).

Ah man this makes me sad

You should definitely do something about that. It ain’t right that someone should effectively steal from you after your own kindness in lending the instrument regardless of what happened afterwards personally

Not least because it’s now worth twice what you bought it for!

That quote makes it look like it's mine. I wish.

I know this may be unpopular, but I like the pearl TBH.

I have the mint guard now but not fitted it

I agree it’s not hideous as it is but I think the fact it’s yellowed means it is a bit queasy as door has said - I’m not really a massive Pearloid fan to be fair

I’m pretty excited about the mint guard and getting some 1meg pot in it (and the original tuners on)

For those not instagram savvy:

Replaced the locking tuners with the original slotheads
Got the new mint pickguard on, needed quite a bit of work around the neck to get it to fit nicely (or at all)
Replaced the 250k stock pots with 1M pots like the ones from the 70s
Really, really hate wiring guitars rather than pedals, lads - soldering ground pots to pot casings is LAME
