Can you imagine the GFS copy on the website page for a “Bag of Rust

Endorsed by Earl Slick or something

Edit: Bag of Rust is a great name for a pedal

“What’s the difference between a $200 guitar and a $5,000 one? Rusty screws of course! The big brands charge thousands for these premium parts, but we bought an entire warehouse of the same rust used by the “big brands so we could offer these at a killer price that you just can’t beat!

comp stang sounds
compared to
hh jag sounds

didn't use a click, just threw this together to get a rough idea of the tonal differences, and yeah, they are there. the comp stang's basswood body adds so much thump, and i think the 250k pots are also darkening them tones. you also get a lot of clarity in the clean tones, and it's fair to say the pickups are lower output than the jag's p90s.

and, despite the guitar being intonated spot on at the 12th fret, it's sharp at the lower frets. going to try shimming first before considering a slight truss rod adjustment to clean that up.

The Muriatrium.

Mustang looks perfect! Jealous.

My favorite trick for installing tight tuner ferrules is to slowly press them in with small c-clamps, it protects both the bushing and the headstock from the potential shock damage of hammering and keeps things nice and square. When I put conversion pushings on my '67 Melody Maker to go back to plate tuners I did it this way, though I originally got the idea while hammering new bushings into my CIJ Jaguar while my stomach tied itself in knots.
