I bought a bass - NOW WITH VIDEO

for those not lucky enough to follow me on instagram.

Today I stumbled across a beautiful second hand Jazz Bass copy in my local guitar shop. Second hand for £145 after a haggle I got it for £130(I felt a bit naughty haggling as it was already dirt cheap)
Anyway it looks the part and to my ears it sounds good too. Here are the specs

Scale: 864mm

Body: Solid Basswood

Neck: Selected Canadian Maple

Neck Reinforcement: Engineered Rosewood or Rosewood

Truss Rod: 2 Way Truss Rod

Fingerboard: Engineered Rosewood or Rosewood

Frets: Nickel

Number of Frets: 20

Position Marks: Dots Inlayed, Black

Machine Heads: Open-Gear, Chrome

Nut: Synthetic Bone

Nut Width: 38mm

Bridge: Chrome

Bridge Cover: Chrome

Pickups: 2 x Single Coil

Controls: 2V. 1T.

Pickguard: White / Black / White 3 Ply Pickguard

Color: Vintage Green

Finish: Glossy

Accessories: SX BB400 Gig Bag

its super light so its a bit headstock heavy and the frets are a bit rough. But other than that at this price point I cant really complain.

Cheers.

Tim I agree about the knobs (Kim had to remind me of the black ones but now I can't unsee it. )
I unfortunately disagree on the tort. Being a tort snob I can only accept what I can't afford.
I do think parchment might look good.

then at minimum you have to get a rear pickup cover with a big ol' F on it and get proper knobs.

Can we just agree that the Tele knobs need to be on Tele's only (I'll make an exception for the Cobain Jag but only because it brings so many of you joy.)

So that is a no to tort ?

cobbled together some knobs to Kinda give it the proper Jazzy knobs(tone is a little on the small side...but that's always been my problem..eh? EH?!
