Cooper FX is no more. But you can get the tone cheaply

Post by Hurb »

Reverb has went mad with prices on second hand generation loss pedals after the news that they are not making any more,
So I have responded with a cheap option

That kind of sounds like an Otamatone.

Yeah, processors are much better if you want to get into more obscure effects like bit crushers, ring modulators, step phasers and so on. Even if you seriously want to get into delays and hook up an expression pedal (although not with that particular unit because it doesn't have an input for it).

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

Great vid. Not really even heard of the Cooper pedal but this made me want one of those Zooms and also prompted me to bust out my bitcrusher and ringmod solutions for the evening.

Glad you like it!
I would always recommend the little Zoom pedal for fun times.

How do we feel about this video format moving forward? The pedal demos in the past with text take fucking ages to edit. This one with me taking over it was much easier. Opinions would be great.

I used to have one of those pedals, it was great fun. Needed a separate PSU though, otherwise it introduced a load of noise into the signal chain.

I have no idea what happened to it, I assume I sold it.

Did you notice you made it in to the title intro?

I hadn’t twigged that was from one of the Doogfests. And there we are, Destroying an Amp. Fame at last.

Can’t believe that was over decade ago!

I like the new format - as i don't always watch youtube videos - alot of the time I'm listening while doing something else so more chat less text suits me.
