ALMOST NGD (Eastman content) NOW WITH PHOTOS!!

Post by mickie08 »

So Wednesday I will be up at the Eastman warehouse in Pomona, Ca. Just got word that for the first time since covid I can actually walk that stacks of instruments there and check out the back stock selection (which I get for super cheap. Usually about 1/4-1/3 of full retail. I know I am buying one of the Les Paul Jrs. Not sure what else I am going to pick up. (maybe nothing) Totally depends on what they have in stock. Fun times. Ill see if I can sneak some pics and post them here. Ill definitely update this post if I find anything.

An of my fellow California friends looking for something, let me know. I can keep an eye out. Not sure I want to mess too much with shipping and I can only really pick up an extra guitar or two. :)

Good news I had a fun shopping trip. Bad news is it may lead to a divorce. LOL The sunburst slot head I got a couple weeks ago.

I should note I will not likely keep ALL of them. I will the 2 electrics most likely as I only have strat and teles so these are completely different sounds. I will end up keeping one of the 2 sunburst more than likely, but not both as I also have one of their sunburst j45s. The reddish brown GA will be one of my stage guitars (I already have one just like it as my main stage guitar). And the octave mando I picked up out of curiosity because i love mando but the neck is too small and tight for me to play with my carpal tunnel. Curious to see if this is easier (even if it is an octave lower). If not I will pass it on as well.

A Tele with a Texas pick guard no less.

I was trying out a pedal today and chose an SB59 to play - it sounded great and played really nicely too.

Close.... Back seat of the truck was pretty full. I think my bands guitar players may have already claimed 2 of them. :)

The jumbo is likely the best acoustic guitar I have ever heard straight out of the box. When it really settles in and opens up a bit it will be pretty hard to beat. The slot head is great, especially for fingerpicking as the neck is wider. But for live work, it is a bit too much a pain to change strings on the fly...

The mando is just a fun toy for me. I can't play a normal mando, the tight quarters kicks in my carpal tunnel almost immediately.

I LOVE the Jr. It is just a pure rock guitar. Period. Does 1 thing and does it better than anything else... :)

The blue one is an extremely versatile guitar and the tremolo system is MUCH more usable and stable than a bigsby. Only weird thing is trem placement and knob placement can be finicky if you do alot of volume swells, etc (the rare time I do I use a volume pedal anyways)

The kind of brown sunburst is actually a very inexpensive guitar and a match to my main stage guitar. I use them all the time because they sound great plugged in with the LR Baggs system, are light and easy to play, and if something happens to them Im not overly stressed. I think between both of those that I own and upgrading the fishman to LR baggs on both Im in to them for about 500 total for both..

I will definitely sell either the slot head or my sunburst j45. Both great guitars, but I am not really a collector and I do not need 3 sunburst acoustics sitting in my garage that Im likely only going to use for recording/jamming around the house.. :)
