Oh baby, I'd love a harmonium. How do the bellows work on that one?

This the first one I’ve ever played so I’m not sure.

That looks like the kind they use everywhere in India. You pump the bellows (at the back) with one hand and play with the other.

Congrats! Even before I was into music I heard a story about how Yamaha company started. A Japanese guy named Yamaha stumbled upon one of these things in the late 19th century and thought "What the fuck is this thing?" And in order to understand that he decided to fully reproduce it. Which he did and then started making them and founded a musical instruments company, hence the three tuning forks on the company label.

I personally like the harmoniums on which you need to pump air with your feet while blasting some tune on the keyboard. Every household has to have one.

Yeah the guy I got it from is a spiritual college professor but he couldn’t get the gang of it. I’m familiar with them because I like to listen to Krishna Das and Nusrat Fatah Ali Khan.

It’s a pretty budget version but it works good enough for my purposes.

Those are extremely expensive where I live, even ones with problems. Same with big home organs. And pianos. They usually run $400-1000, and that stuff is often free in the US.

On the other hand, combo organs are cheap.
