A while back Musicians Friend had a scratch and dent surf green bullet mustang for a really cheap price. It had a dent on the back of the body when it arrived but that was it. First refinish attempt was Dakota red but I screwed that up so I stripped it down again and went with Daphne Blue. Add a bridge plate from plops, an aged pearloid pickguard, a custom decal from HNB and a single coil from the parts box and...

Nice as always. If there was a Custom Shop at Squier, you should be running it.

So you stained/finished the neck?

Thanks guys.
Yes, I stripped the neck, tinted it and finished it with tru oil. I spent a some time on the fret ends and polishing the frets as well. The neck feels great now. It wasn't bad before but it needed a little attention. I was so happy with this one that I bought another one.

You are making miss my Musicmaster Project guitar that I traded away.

I think you sold me the body for that one too.

Funny you say that. That's the direction I'm heading with the second one. I was missing my old '76 musicmaster. I'll post pics when complete.

Beautiful. I enjoy seeing squiery nods towards classic-era Fenders.

Always regretted selling my '76 Musicmaster back in the mid 80s. So I thought I would do this with one of the Bullet Mustangs. Still needs a setup but it nails the look.

Hell yes! Much more so than the only Squier Musicmaster released:

I always wanted to get one of those vista Musicmasters. Are those full scale necks? I bought one of the original pickguards on ebay so I could make one someday but I just haven't got around to it yet. I love how they mimic the Musicmaster bass. Very cool.

Squier Vista Musicmasters are Gibson, or rather Epiphone scale of 24.75".

Nice little Musicmaster you built there, it looks super classy.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know to make a drawing for templates.

Okay, this is the last one, I swear. I've kinda been thinking a telecaster next anyway. I converted the body to a string through with a Wilkinson bridge, a set of Dimarzio Super Distortion knockoffs, made a black 3 ply pickguard, vintage style tuners, bone nut and a new decal. The bone nut still needs a little tweaking but I'm happy with it overall.
