Anyone have one or play one? Sales and coupin code plus a particularly good tipping gig had me.hit thd biy button on one thie morning. Always wanted a comp mustang. And definitely fits in with tbe 90s band im starting up.

I loved my regular CV Mustang when I had it.

I only sold it because I didn't care for the thin neck behind the 1st fret.

Replace the stock vibrato with a Fender one and get some black pickup covers and you are set.

They were fine. I didn't feel a need to change them. I only changed out the Vibrato and kept the stock bridge.

I was able to setup the guitar with .11s and the vibrato would stay in tune.

I really want to try one of the new Vintera II Competition Mustangs soon.

Just got it in. It is beautiful and the neck profile is great. Fretboard is really dry so needs some oil. Guessing its the pauo stuff (Didnt even look). But seems to play well without a setup. Need to get my head around the switches and everything as I have never owned a mustang. IN any case it will be a nice change of pace guitar wise as well as a fitting guitar for a few songs in the new 90s band. I think all my electrics for that band may end up being squier series. I am seriously thinking of picking up one of the blue custom esquires with the 2 way chicken head knob for drop D shit , using the mustang for a few songs and as backup and then the 40th anniversary with the 2 stacked humbuckers and all the switching options for most songs.

I believe the fretboards are Indian Laurel on these guitars.

For the Mustang switching,

Both Switches in the Middle is off

Either switch in the left or right positions is on.

Bridge switch in the Middle position and neck switch in the left or right position- >Neck pickup

Neck switch in the Middle position and bridge switch in the left or right position- >Bridge pickup

Both switches Left or right (in the same direction) -> both pickups in phase

Both switches Left or right (in the different directions) -> both pickups in out of phase

thanks. Squier has been making some really nice looking stuff lately and as always, a few upgrades (not always even necessary) gives you killer guitars.

I have 300 into the mustang and about 450 I think into the strat with a complete pup swap/wiring check, shielding upgrade, etc. Ill probably have the mustang gone over professionally and check the shielding (one thing often lacking in these squiers). SO maybe another 100. so under 1K for 2 really fun and killer guitars with a ton of sounds. :)

yeah, aesthetically, it's hard to argue against the black covers. i have no idea who greenlit the white ones at squier other than some product manager noticing they were overstocked on them and needed a way to get them out.
