Check out this page on relixing tuners. It's pretty cool, but I don't get why he uses shoe polish instead of brown dye or wood stain on the knobs. Too dark? I would also sand them a bit first to create surface scratches. I am going to have to get me some of that micro grit stuff.

I want to try this for that 60s Melody Maker I have wifs old tuners but new knobs. The knobs look like store bought teeth on that old thing.
