Have Robroe to thank for getting me into them, albeit after they broke up
Yeah, they're long gone. That's why the word "audition" piqued my curiosity.

Re: Shorter than Short

I love the guitar acoustically but the bridge rail pickup is absolutely garbage and teh single coils are only slightly better. Guitar sounds like it's being played through a tin can. Are they standard sized strat pickups (i.e. easily replaceable) or have they been "smart sized" to some we...

Re: Shorter than Short

They quote it as 285mm on the Fender Japan website. Fender Japan quote half scale lengths for some reason so the full scale length is 570mm (22.44"). That's assuming that the specs on the website are accurate. That sounds right. I specifically remember wondering if either the neck or body woul...

Re: Shorter than Short

I stopped it because, don't know why, I can't spread my fingers wide enough to handle a normal scale. And please, don't say ist all practice. I even consulted a doctor and he said the same.. I can't do it. So I switched to Ukulele. Much shorter Scale, a lot easier to play. I'm in a similar boat. I'...

Re: Tele pickup shopping.

or should I try something else? I'm absolutely head over heels for the Lollar Vintage T set that is in Mrs. LC's guitar that she doesn't ever play. I used to hang with a guy that had a dealer account with Lollar though, so I got them for wholesale and that's way cheaper than retail. 220 American Do...

I almost bought one of the old ones a few times before my elbow got all fucked. They seem like a good way to get skate punk and country out of the same guitar and I never wanted to follow all of my friends down the Ibanez metal guitar to Gibson SG path that they all took.

Nope, you're right the Mustang headstock is larger than the Duo or Musicmaster's.

edit: My Mustang and Musicmaster are both 1964's for reference.

I'm pretty sure all my 22.5" vintage Fender headstocks are of pretty similar size. Lemme check.

22.5" scale is more rare on all of the guitars except the early duo sonics. Duo Sonics were only available in 22.5" for the first ~4 years, 56-59. I'm not sure which year spawned the 24" duos.

I'm a lot closer to this line of thinking but I just can't imagine any electric guitar ever being priced at over 2.5k in any circumstance at all. Vintage/Collectible stuff etc withstanding.

Holy Shit! Talk about a weirdo!

Would be better if it were random lyrics and actually legible to produce some freaky word salad. It's what Kurt would have wanted. :)

I'm sort of a prissy princess though. :) The cracks are troubling.

I think it's hilarious.

Given unfettered access to a high end vinyl printer and a cheap acoustic guitar, I think I'd go for something like a mural though. Grazing cattle and a loyal hound dog...
