It's back, and moderately more expensive.

Actually, thinking about inflation, I'm not sure if it is all that much more expensive. The originals were going for £99 toward the end, down from the standard £129-£149. With around 5-6 years between them and a 3% VAT increase as well it probably works out.

the used market got ridiculous anyway, once these settle down with sale prices etc it'll be much easier to pick them up for a good used price.

Is GC going to reissue its $80 Squier 51 blowout?

I didn't like these based on looks, then I picked one up from a Crack Converters because i knew I could flip it and double my money. It was a really good guitar and if you like chunky necks you must try one.
Good to see them back.

The blonde one is hot, I much prefer that color to the blonde on the old model. But the sunburst one looks exactly the same :? If they're not really any different, I see no reason to buy one new since you can still get old ones for half the price. Still a fantastic guitar for the price, though.

Hopefully the new ones will have better pickups?

Those remain the ugliest non-Katana fender design.

And right now gfs and all the other companies that blew out their overstock of aftermarket pickguards for these are kicking themselves.

I always thought these things look awful, But now I think it is just the pickguard that kills it. A reshape of this could probably do wonders.

I like the shape of that guard, like an old P bass. Just needs to be not white. Black maybe
