I really like the effect on the guitar at the beginning of the song, but I have no idea what it is... :? Can anyone enlighten me? What kind of pedal (or pedals) would give me this sound?

That's a tremolo effect, my friend! Most tremolo pedals will get you very close to that.

It's a more subtle Trem than most people are used to I think. Most people think of James Bond, Portishead and SORF when they think of Tremolo.
