Metal guitar GAS

Post by BoringPostcards »

I want this so bad!!

I've been getting back into Megadeth, don't really know why, but I stopped listening to metal entirely years ago and sold my metal rig. I had a B.C. Rich Warlock in natural with a floyd from the 80s. It was ass ugly.

THis thing is wonderful and not ugly like a lot of metal guitars. I like the warped explorer shape.

For when I have my jaguar, and a dream amp... why not have a hot-rod Strat with a floyd and an epic 80s paint job. MIJ too!

ALSO THIS IS AWESOME:

Pretty cool, but I couldn't bring myself to own anything with Dave Mustaine's name on it, even if I bought it used.

If I was drafted into a metal band (an entertaining thought!), and needed a metaly axxxe, I'd just bring along the black Yamaha SG and track down a vintage sunburst Iceman for backup. Or as a "firsty"

OHHHHHHHH YEAH.

The charvel and jackson strat inspired guitars are great. For all around playability and floydless tuning stablility i HIGHLY recommend the musicman jp6.

Ha I actually put 400 bucks down on that exact guitar about 20 minutes ago!!! It is so fucking well built it's not even funny and it actually has a really nice clean tone, which is hard to find in a metal guitar.

I realized that the LTD Dave Mustaine Zero Korina is 3000. Personally signed by Dave and all, which would be epic, but I can't justify it right now.

comes with a really nice hardshell flightcase too and a PRS cable (local deal). Only 900 bucks. They had a nice red one there too, but I prefer the blue. It has a sticker on the back of the headstock that states that the shape is under license from FMIC and is copyrighted.

I recently played one at the local 'classicrock and metal' guitar store in town.

All they have is Gibsons and assorted LTD/Ibanez/Charvel brands.

It comes with Dimarzio pickups, and The neck is thin and fast, but it is also rounded at the back and feels a little bit vintage, unlike those super thin super modern Ibanez necks.

I want one really bad.

I would love the charvel without the floyd (can't use 'em to save my life) and the Iceman is pretty damn cool.

Not a fan of his music, or his personality?

I try to remember the old Dave, before he was "born again" I still like his music, but I don't agree with his views at all. I was a big Megadeth fan as a kid and was one of those "they're better than metallica" people. I respect both bands equally now that I'm 30 years old, but back then it was all about Megadeth.
Nirvana and the grunge movement exploded and I became a grunger. Nowadays I listen everything from Wu-Tang to Thelonious Monk and everything in between.

FRAN JUST BLEW MY FUCKING MIND!!

OK. I don't own any of their music, but I've heard it for years and many of my friends are into them and have covered their music, and I had no idea all this time that they were african american!

how embarrassing.
