im sure they used his old black supersonic as a template when they made this one
I'm not sure that's how I'd describe the neck feel, unless Supersonics have much flatter fretboards than other Fenders.

If you're talking about the horn on the ORM, it's not hollow, I moved my strap pin there and now it's not headstock heavy at all, before it was SGish.

Get an ORM-1 instead. Ibanez has crafted the perfect hybrid of an SG-X and a Fender offset.

The ORM stock pick-up is the only Ibanez stock pup I've actually liked. My seven string really could use a swap, at least in the bridge.

When I had one I don't remember the strings being stopped by the metal plate, I think they are stopped at the other end of the body, I might be wrong though. If you do remove the plate the guitar isn't all finished under it as it's the plate that is earthed, so you'd still have a crap looking guita...

hm? I don't get it, do the strings not run through the body? They do run through, and the metal piece is what retains them in place. Remove the metal piece, the strings aren't stopped by anything, so you'd need to add a stopbar or the ends of the strings would just be loose. That natural finished o...

whoa, I never noticed that crazy gretsch style bridge on there. still IMO, if you took that tailpiece thing off of there and just threw it away, that guitar would look a million times better. I totally agree, except it's not feasible, without adding a stopbar. I might end up taking it off and paint...

Pretty much an Ibanez ORM-1, only with an EMG81/SA set and the Talman headstock. Oh, and seafoam green and red tort, instead of black or white.

Ibanez ORM ftw.

I'm also pretty fond of Fender Broncos and Jagstangs. Jaguars and Mustangs make me go a big rubbery one too, but none of them have the Ibanez's neck.

melodic thrash ? Sum 41? Melodic thrash, the subgenre of punk. Be sure not to confuse thrash with thrash metal. Although, they're pretty obviously influenced by NWOBHM and thrash metal too. It's polished, poppy, easily accessible stuff, but that doesn't mean it doesn't show elements of more aggress...

ORM-1, but neck-thru and with a Talman style headstock and an EMG-81X in the bridge (more preamp headroom/less compression) and an EMG-SA in the neck on an angle, Mustang style.

Pop-Punk?? I understand where you're come from kinda....but compared to blink, sum 41, green day, offspring (since americana) etc etc I'd say they don't fit with any of what I'd call pop punk....there's a whole shitload of others I've not mention becuase I don't go in for that stufff...hence mentio...
